White Elephant Auction
Intermediate Club Get-Together, August 10. 6:00 PM at the Roosevelt Park
Community Building. The cost is $5.00 each. Come and enjoy a delicious meal in
air conditioned comfort. Featuring our famous White Elephant Auction. Initials
M - Z bring a wrapped "white elephant" for sale. Bring your change for bidding
and a sign-up sheet is on the table in the Fellowship Hall.

A New Members Orientation Class
A New Members Orientation Class - for those interested in exploring full
membership at Bethany by profession or reaffirmation of faith or transfer -
will be held in the Pastor's Office after the morning service each Sunday. If
you would like to pursue membership at Bethany but are unable to attend these
after-service sessions, please contact Pastor David Sieplinga.

Restocking Shelves
The Bethany Church Pantry needs to restock the shelves with these items: Mac &
Cheese, powdered milk, toothpaste, dish soap, laundry soap, and toilet paper.
If you would rather contribute money than the actual items, please see Ev
Christenson. Again, we want to thank everyone for the continued support!

Sacred Suds Needs
Volunteers
Are you interested in serving those in our neighborhood? If so, there is an
opportunity at Sacred Suds! Sacred Suds is a ministry center located at 289
Larch St. in McLaughlin Neighborhood, that is currently serving neighbors by
offering access to shower and laundry facilities. Volunteers are needed on
Wednesday afternoons and Thursday mornings to help staff the reception desk,
answer phones, make appointments, and assist clients as needed. Please call
Sarah Rinsema-Sybenga at 726-4161 for more information and to schedule a
volunteer orientation.

1st Christian Reformed Church presents
Concerts on the Lawn
Carlos Seise, a variety vocalist, will be at the Concerts on the Lawn at First
Christian Reformed Church beginning at 5:30 PM. on July 31. Bring your lawn
chair and join us! 1450 Catherine Ave. at Creston St. In case of rain, concert
held in church. Refreshments will be served after the concert.

Ice Cream Social
The annual ICE CREAM SOCIAL is to be held at Christian Care Senior Care located
at 1530 McLaughlin (behind Apple Ave. K Mart) on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 2:00 -
8:00 PM. Along with the all day silent auction, there will be a live auction at
7:00 PM. Enjoy the Muskegon Port Side Model A Ford Exhibit, live entertainment
that includes Tom Cavanaugh, White Lake Kitchen Band, Dana Harris Groothuis,
Cedar Creek Cloggers and the Jack Videtich Orchestra. The whole family will
enjoy the day! Cake, Ice Cream & Drink for a $2.00 donation. Hot dogs and chips
also available. Cakes being donated for this event should be at Christian Care
by 2:00 PM.

Job Opportunity
The Muskegon Rescue Mission is in need of a Part-Time Supervisor to fill a
position in our Women & Children's Shelter. Current need is for 24 - 32 hours
per week from 3:00 - 11:00 PM. A strong Christian faith and strong work ethics
are necessary for this position. Interested applicants should send resume or

8th Annual Golf With a Mission
Muskegon Rescue Mission is holding 8th Annual Golf Outing on Sept. 8, 2005 with
a 1:00 PM Shotgun start. This will be held at the Grand Haven Golf Club at
17000 Lincoln St. For more info, contact Kelly Banks at (231) 727-6090 or check
the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall. Deadline for registration is Sept.
1. $80 Entry Fee per player must accompany registration form. A golfing event
is another means of meeting our financial needs and connecting new people with
this ministry.

Women's Softball News
Tomorrow, July 25, Bethany Women's Softball team will have their last game of
the season. They will be playing Central Assembly #2, at Beukema Field #2, at
7:00 PM. Come on out for some good fun and excitement and show our ladies our
support!

Anne Spoelman will celebrate her 84th birthday on Aug. 3, 2005. Ellen Rockwood
will celebrate her 81st birthday on Aug. 5, 2005. Congratulations ladies!

July Collection Schedule

Anyone who needs to complete the Abuse Prevention Training requirement may now
do so by checking out a video tape and packet from the church office. Please
try to complete and return within one week.
Learn Praise & Worship Songs
We had a great time singing Wednesday, July 13. We'll do it again next week at
7:00 PM in the choir room. Come and learn more of the Praise & Worship Songs.

Open House
On Sunday August 21, after the morning service, there will be an Open House in
the newly-redecorated and newly-occupied parsonage. Coffee, punch and other
refreshments will be served.

This Sunday, July 24, Worship On the Waterfront 2005 welcomes Phil Driscoll to
the Grand Haven Waterfront Stadium from 7:30 - 8:45 PM. The name Phil Driscoll
is synonymous with great music. His trumpet, voice, heart and soul have moved
audiences around the world. His message of hope is paramount in the music he
