Ladies!
You and your friends are invited to Women's Fellowship each Thursday at 2:00 PM
for a lively discussion of Genesis, led by Pastor Dave. There is no upper or
lower age limit- we can all learn from each other. If you have school aged
children, you can be home in time to greet them. We'd love to welcome you at
our first meeting on Sept. 15th!

Children and Worship Open House
Children and Worship Open House will be after the morning worship, downstairs
in room 14. It will be a short time for anyone interested in the Children's
Worship. Please join us!

AmeriCorps Service Opportunity
Bethany Church has a 12-month, full-time position in community development in
the McLaughlin neighborhood. This position was made possible by a grant secured
by CRWRC from AmeriCorps, a federal program which engages 50,000 Americans age
17 and older in a year of intensive service to meet community needs in
education, the environment, public safety and homeland security. The successful
applicant will identify resources and priorities among residents of the
Bethany/McLaughlin neighborhood and develop improvement projects and programs
with residents. See bethanychurchmuskegon.org for a position description and
application form, or contact Pastor David Sieplinga for more information.
Application deadline: Sept. 23, 2005.

musical ability is helpful, but not necessary. If interested, please see Mrs.

CROP Walk 2005
A compelling reason to participate in the 2005 CROP Walk, October 2nd!
The devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina staggers our imagination and
burdens our hearts -- so much loss of innocent life. Stirred by compassion,
millions of people want to respond to the suffering. The Muskegon CROP Walk is
one way that YOU can do something to help. Besides the contributions that are
earmarked for local Muskegon agencies, the contributions that are received this
year will, in large part, go to Church World Service's Hurricane Recovery
Program.Contributions can also be designated for CRWRC and its Hurricane
Relief Fund. Get involved this year! It is Bethany's goal this year to double
the number of walkers from last year. That means Bethany needs 40 walkers! Sign
up and pick up your packets downstairs. Questions? Talk to Sarah.

From Girl Scout troops to the federal government, in ways great and small,
individuals and groups are reaching out to help. Church World Service is
grateful to be one vehicle of that heartfelt response. The contributions we
receive to our Hurricane Recovery appeal are helping us respond to both the
immediate needs and the long-term recovery of these shattered communities. It
is important to remember, however, that the reason CWS is able to make such a
swift and effective response to this disaster (within hours) is in large part
because of the on-going support raised by communities across this nation
through CROP WALKS.
